Jim Tracy at Montford North Star Academy, Asheville City Schools (Review #81). Teacher talks about how much he hates his dad. This seems like an inappropriate personal detail and could lead to enmity between kids and their parents. To befriend students, he teaches them how to convince parents to buy them smart phones. Teachers should not get involved in parent decisions, or make parents' lives more difficult. (September 20, 2023) Published View Details
Matt Leggat at Montford North Star Academy, Asheville City Schools (Review #78). Matt teaches children that Black People getting married, going to church, and quitting smoking and drinking is basically living like a White Person. I find that statement racist. I know many black people who authentically go to church, get married, and don't drink or smoke. (September 12, 2023) ![]() ![]() Published View Details

Shannon Baggett at Montford North Star Academy, Asheville City Schools (Review #68). The school promotes LGBTQ resources and the gender unicorn, encouraging students to gender dysphoria. The school does not present alternative viewpoints. (May 11, 2023) ![]() ![]() Published View Details
Matt Leggat at Montford North Star Academy, Asheville City Schools (Review #53). Mr Leggat teaches his personal political views in his classes. He is unable or unwilling to share content critical of his personal politics with his students. He does not respond to parent inquiries. (February 22, 2022) Published View Details

Matt Leggat at Montford North Star Academy, Asheville City Schools (Review #40). Hi Everybody, Mr. Leggat just sent us a survey that he will be teaching our kids from the Critical Race Theory book Stamped. I know he uses Howard Zinn's "People's History of the United States." These books are strongly anti-American and left leaning.
My concern is a lack of political diversity in his class. Are our children getting a balanced... (December 20, 2021) Published View Details
Kristen Moore regarding Transgender Indoctrination at Montford North Star Academy (Review #37). Recently I was disturbed to find out you asked all students in your class for their preferred gender pronouns. I have some questions about your policy in this area:
1) You are tacitly communicating to my child that gender is a choice rather than a biological fact. Young children, especially around puberty, naturally idealize the opposite sex, and may...
